				<ArticleTitle>Article 3</ArticleTitle>
				<Paragraph Num="1" id="en_at3cl1">
					<ParagraphNum>(1)</ParagraphNum>
					<ParagraphSentence>
						<Sentence>The cases specified by Cabinet Order referred to in Article 3, paragraph (1), item (iv) of the Act are the following cases:</Sentence>
					</ParagraphSentence>
					<Item Num="1">
						<ItemTitle>(i)</ItemTitle>
						<ItemSentence>
							<Sentence>when a person intends to manufacture or import a new chemical substance as an intermediate to another chemical substance, and has taken the necessary measures to prevent environmental pollution from the new chemical substance during the period until the new chemical substance is transformed into the other chemical substance;</Sentence>
						</ItemSentence>
					</Item>
					<Item Num="2">
						<ItemTitle>(ii)</ItemTitle>
						<ItemSentence>
							<Sentence>when a person intends to manufacture or import a new chemical substance for use in a way which does not pose a risk of being discharged outside the facility or equipment, and has taken the necessary measures to prevent environmental pollution from the new chemical substance during the period until the new chemical substance is disposed of;</Sentence>
						</ItemSentence>
					</Item>
					<Item Num="3">
						<ItemTitle>(iii)</ItemTitle>
						<ItemSentence>
							<Sentence>when a person intends to manufacture or import a new chemical substance for the purpose of export (limited to cases when the export is to a region that has been designated by Order of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, Order of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and Order of the Ministry of the Environment as a region where the necessary measures have been taken to prevent environmental pollution from the new chemical substance), and the person has taken the necessary measures to prevent environmental pollution from the new chemical substance during the period until the new chemical substance is exported.</Sentence>

					</Item>
				</Paragraph>

					<ParagraphNum>(2)</ParagraphNum>
					<ParagraphSentence>
						<Sentence>The quantity specified by Cabinet Order referred to in Article 3, paragraph (1), item (v) of the Act is 1 metric ton.</Sentence>

				</Paragraph>

					<ParagraphNum>(3)</ParagraphNum>
					<ParagraphSentence>
						<Sentence>The quantity specified by Cabinet Order referred to in Article 3, paragraph (2) of the Act is 1 metric ton.</Sentence>
