        <seg>第２条　有機加工食品は、原材料である有機農産物の日本農林規格（平成１７年１０月２７日農林水産省告示第１６０５号）第３条に規定する有機農産物（以下「有機農産物」という。）及び有機畜産物の日本農林規格（平成１７年１０月２７日農林水産省告示第１６０８号）第３条に規定する有機畜産物（以下「有機畜産物」という。）の有する特性を製造又は加工の過程において保持することを旨とし、物理的又は生物の機能を利用した加工方法を用い、化学的に合成された添加物及び薬剤の使用を避けることを基本として、生産することとする。</seg>

        <seg>Article 2 Organic processed foods are to be produced in accordance with the principle of preserving the characteristics of the ingredients, which are which are the organic products of plant origin specified in Article 3 of the Japanese Agricultural Standard for Organic Products of Plant Origin (Public Notice of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries No. 1605 of October 27, 2005) ( hereinafter referred to below as "organic products of plant origin") and organic livestock products specified in Article 3 of the Japanese Agricultural Standard for Organic Livestock Products (Public Notice of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries No. 1608 of October 27, 2005) (hereinafter referred to below as "organic livestock products") in the process in the course of their production or processing, and based on the principle of using a physical or biological method of processing and avoiding the use of chemically synthesized additives and chemical agents.</seg>

In  these circumstances,  measures must be taken to prevent  their incorporation into the ingredients, additives, or manufactured products.</seg>
