Act on Court Holidays (Court Holidays) Article 1 (1) The days listed in the following items are court holidays, and the court is not to, in principle, hold office: (i) Saturdays and Sundays (ii) holidays provided for in the Act on National Holidays (Act No. 178 of 1948) (iii) days between December 29 through January 3 of the following year (excluding the days listed in the preceding item) (2) The provisions of the preceding paragraph do not preclude the court from exercising its powers on court holidays. (Exceptions to the Due Dates) Article 2 When the period for filing petitions, notifications, or any other action taken with the court concerning salaries, security, and services of court officials and other particulars relating to judicial administration prescribed by laws or the Rules of the Supreme Court falls on a court holiday, the deadline is deemed to be the day following the court holiday; provided, however that this does not apply where otherwise prescribed by laws or the Rules of the Supreme Court.
